the dyadic product of tensors or vectors, their outer product; MATLAB’s dyad

Syntax

T = dyad(T1, T2)

The outer product, of the ranks added.

T = dyad(v, 3)

The third dyadic power v x v x v.

T = dyad(v, n=3)

The same.

T = dyad(T1, T2, 2)

The second dyadic power of the outer product.

Description

A vector counts as a tensor of rank one; a single argument is returned as a tensor. The power is the second argument or the keyword n; after a second factor it raises their outer product to that power.

Input

a tensor or vector3d, T1 above
b tensor or vector3d, T2 above, or an integer power

Keywords

keyword default description
n None the dyadic power, a positive integer

Output

T tensor
