edge preserving mean over the most homogeneous subwindow

Of the four quadrants of the window around a pixel, the one with the smallest orientation spread wins and its mean is taken. That keeps a boundary sharp, since the quadrant across it is never the quietest one. Not yet fully supported on hexagonal grids.

Syntax

F = KuwaharaFilter
F = KuwaharaFilter('neighbours',2)
ebsd = smooth(ebsd,F)

Options

neighbours radius of the window in pixel, 1 by default

Class Properties

numNeighbours radius of the window in pixel
isHex is the map on a hexagonal grid
