express the same geometric data in another reference frame.

Syntax

transformed = transformReferenceFrame(x, frame)

Description

For an MTEX object, transformReferenceFrame(x, …) calls x.transformReferenceFrame(…). Additional positional and keyword arguments are passed to that method unchanged. Its documentation specifies the accepted inputs, units, symmetry handling and optional outputs. Consult the corresponding method for the behaviour of a particular object type.

Signature

transformReferenceFrame(x, *args, **kwargs)

Methods it calls

mapImage the images stated in a frame and laid out that way: a layout reindexes and nothing else, a frame restates where they sit by the orientation given, by ‘byScreenAlignment’, the assertion that the frames were drawn the same way up, or by nothing where the frames are already related
orientation the same orientation described with another reference frame of the crystal
tensor the same coefficients read in another frame, the numbers changed by the rigid part of the transition between the two bases
vector3d the same direction written in another frame

Used on

EBSDMapsAndImages, CPOSeismicProperties
