class to handle spatial plots of EBSD data and grains

One per axes, stored in its appdata. It owns the extent of the map, the micron bar and the plotting convention, so that EBSD, grains and boundary plots drawn into the same axes agree on all three.

Syntax

mP = mapPlot(ax)
mP = getappdata(gca,'mapPlot')

ax the axes handle
